Qualification requirements
Open a new eligible PNC checking product online through the application links on PNC's checking page. To earn the $400 reward, open Virtual Wallet with Performance Select and receive total qualifying direct deposits of at least $5,000 into the Spend account within the first 60 days. PNC defines qualifying direct deposit as recurring paycheck, pension, Social Security, or other regular income electronically deposited by an employer or outside agency. Credit card cash advances, wire transfers, person-to-person transfers, account-to-account transfers, and deposits made at a branch, ATM, mobile device, or through the mail do not qualify. The same page lists a separate $100 Virtual Wallet path with a $500 direct-deposit requirement.
Fees and costs
The PNC Virtual Wallet with Performance Select fee schedule lists a $25 monthly service charge. Waiver paths include $5,000 in qualifying monthly direct deposits to Spend during the statement period, a $5,000 combined average monthly balance in Spend and linked consumer checking accounts including Reserve, a $25,000 combined average monthly balance across linked PNC consumer deposit and/or PNC Wealth Management accounts, or PNC employee status. The schedule lists a $25 minimum deposit to open the Spend account and says the minimum is $0 if opened online. Other service fees can apply, including overdraft, paper statement, wire, stop-payment, and optional service fees.
Availability
PNC says the offer is valid from May 29, 2026 through August 31, 2026 and may be extended, modified, discontinued, or vary by market. Existing PNC Bank or FirstBank consumer checking customers, customers who closed those accounts within the past 12 months, prior PNC promotional-premium recipients within the past 24 months, and trust, estate, or other specialty titled accounts are excluded. If multiple accounts are opened with the same signers, only one account is eligible for the premium.
