Offer value details

Verizon describes the Verizon Visa Card as a Synchrony-issued Visa Signature card for eligible Verizon wireless and Fios account owners or managers, with an up-to-$150 new-cardholder statement-credit offer, Verizon Dollar rewards, Auto Pay savings context, select device financing, and no annual fee.

Qualification requirements

The opening offer requires approval for a Verizon Visa Signature Card account, a first purchase within 90 days for the $50 statement credit, and $1,500 in qualifying purchases within the first 90 days for the additional $100 statement credit. Verizon says only one offer is available per account and the account must remain open and in good standing when the statement credit is applied.

Fees and costs

Verizon's FAQ lists no annual fee and no foreign transaction fees. It also lists variable purchase and balance-transfer APRs of 22.24%, 27.24%, or 33.24% for new accounts, variable cash APRs of 26.49%, 31.49%, or 37.49% plus a 5% cash-advance fee with $10 minimum, a 5% balance-transfer fee with $5 minimum, penalty APRs up to 39.99%, and a $2 minimum interest charge. Synchrony's account agreement adds late-payment, returned-payment, and paper-statement fee terms.

Availability

Verizon says applicants must be Verizon wireless Account Owners or Account Managers with up to 12 phone lines depending on plan, or Fios Account Owners with at least one active Fios service. Verizon wireless Business, Prepaid, and Fios Business accounts are not eligible, and the card is subject to Synchrony Bank credit approval.

What to verify

  • The statement-credit offer is limited time and Verizon says it can discontinue or alter the terms at any time.
  • Verizon Dollars are not cash, cannot be redeemed for cash or gift cards, and depend on Verizon account access and redemption rules.
  • Rewards depend on merchant category coding, and big-box or mixed-category purchases may not qualify for elevated categories.
  • APR, penalty APR, balance-transfer fees, cash-advance fees, late fees, returned-payment fees, and paper-statement fees can outweigh rewards.
  • Eligibility is limited to qualifying Verizon wireless or Fios account roles; business, prepaid, and Fios Business accounts are not eligible.
