Offer value details
Wealthfront describes its Automated Investing Account as an automatically managed, diversified investing account that builds a portfolio from a questionnaire, rebalances over time, reinvests dividends, and offers Tax-Loss Harvesting and customization features.
Qualification requirements
Wealthfront says users choose an account type, answer a questionnaire, review the investment plan, and then fund the account. The official support pages list a $500 minimum for investment accounts and a $100 minimum for add-on deposits.
Fees and costs
Wealthfront lists a 0.25% annual advisory fee for Automated Investing Accounts, charged on assets and deducted monthly. Its fee support page says Wealthfront does not charge account-opening, withdrawal, account-closing, trading, commission, or account-transfer fees for accounts with advisory fees, while ETF and mutual fund expense ratios are still embedded costs.

What to verify
- All investing involves risk, including possible loss of money.
- Past performance does not guarantee future results.
- Securities investments are not bank deposits, are not bank guaranteed, are not FDIC insured, and may lose value.
- SIPC protection is for broker-dealer failure scenarios and does not protect against market losses.
- Tax-Loss Harvesting depends on the client's full tax and investment profile and can create wash-sale, capital-gain, market-impact, or transaction-cost considerations.
